The First Rose.

I walk to my balcony with half closed eyes... not yet ready to wake up and get ready for office. Picking up the news paper on my way... Mentally sketching the next few actions of the day:

But still not ready to wake up... and then... OH MY LORD!!!! The most beautiful site in my balcony.... 'The First Rose' had just bloomed. Fresh, pink and so soft..
I had been counting days when this bud, which had been covered in its green sepal when I first bought it, would actually give way to the actual flower.

I pulled my husband out of bed and nag him to death before he clicks some pictures... and here is the fist snap of the new born.

Today I relive some of the emotions that my dad had been living all these years when he used to slog in his garden day and night to watch his 'First Rose' take shape.

This one is for you Baba!!!

BE A MASTER PIECE

The days are long and the nights restless!!! The reason is something that probably every individual goes through at least once in his/her life time....

FAILURE IN MEETING EXPECTATIONS!!!!

When you fail to meet someone's expectations you are looked down and made to feel a failure.

Once such feeling has been creeping in for quite some time as I wanted to be someone of my own cause. That's when my biggest inspiration in life.. BABA... sent me an excerpt from an online article which not only moved me but helped me take life as a new challenge.
Today, I want to share this with everyone who feels the brunt of not meeting expectations, especially for those who are riding in the same boat of Working Professional.

Not that we dint know this already, but sometimes even gold needs polishing to bring out the glow covered by time and misuse.

All The Best...... or rather I say ... ALL IZZZZ WELL!!!!

"A plum once said, just because a banana lover came by, I converted myself to banana. Unfortunately, his taste changed after a few months and so I became an orange. When he said I was bitter I became an apple, but he went in search of grapes. Yielding to the opinions of so many people, I have changed so many times that I no more know who I am. How I wish I had remained a plum and waited for a plum lover?

Just because a group of people do not accept you as you are, there is no necessity for you to strip yourself of your originality. You need to think good of yourself, for the world takes you at your own estimate. Never stoop down in order to gain recognition. Never let go of your true self to win a relationship. In the long run, you will regret that you traded your greatest glory-your uniqueness, for momentary validation.

There is a world for each one of you, where you shall reign as king/ queen by just being yourself. Find that world. In fact, that world will find you.

What water can do, gasoline cannot and what copper can, gold cannot. The fragility of the ant enables it to move and the rigidity of the tree enables it to stay rooted. Everything and everybody has been designed with a proportion of uniqueness to serve a purpose that we can fulfill only by being our unique self. You, as you alone can serve your purpose and I, as I alone can serve my purpose. You are here to be you…just you.

There was a time in this world when a Krishna was required and he was sent; a time when a Christ was required and he was sent; a time when a Mahatma was required and he was sent; a time when J.R.D.Tata was required and he was sent. There came a time when you were required in this planet and hence you were sent. Let us be the best we can be. Don’t miss yourself and let the world miss you.

In the history of the universe, there has been nobody like you and to the infinite of time to come; there will be no one like you. Existence should have loved you so much that it broke the mould after making you, so that another of your kind will never get repeated.

You are original. You are rare. You are unique. You are a wonder. You are a Masterpiece…Your Master’s piece. Celebrate your Uniqueness.

Passion… Not yet an Obsession.

Ever been in a moment when you might have felt very passionately about something. So much that it had the power of disrupting the peaceful and settled life of yours. With just one strong thrust you probably wanted to break all ties and drive your passion to a state of obsession. But as quickly as this passion gets in, it leaves you with equal velocity. Reasons could be from a bank loan that needs your regular flow of income to a child who needs its mother's attention or an ailing parent who needs you with them to a social stigma created around you.

It’s a matter of time and fate that you end up in your current profession. Someone wanted to become an army officer and drove her parents nuts since her eight grade just to get her hands on those SSC prep books. She learnt Karate and Horse riding just to gain that extra something which the selectors would probably notice when she gives her physical exam.

After 10 years of passing out her high school she is a Team lead in an IT firm. Has a wonderful marriage, good money, a big House, a sedan and a great job, nothing that she can actually complain off, though every day is a challenge as it’s a literal fight to prove yourself better than your peers to be able to survive in the rat race.

Then why there is emptiness somewhere. After almost one and a half year, even today her heart is torn to pieces when she sees the video of Shilpa Rao sing 'Ek Lau' against the backdrop of Mumbai terrorist attack.

On one hand she thanked god that she was on a train on her way back to Pune when the German Bakery was struck. And then the next instance she penalizes herself for not joining the army as it is always better to be on the field and help then sit at home and sigh! What an irony!! She and her class mate had fixed German bakery as their place of reunion after 10 years.

The Hollowness is killing. The incapability is so disrupting that you want to break free. And then the best thing that could ever happen. She learns to write her mind out.
So here is my blog site dedicated to everything that I feel strongly about.
All my childhood I found it difficult to understand my father's anger every time there was damage to his garden. The damage could be from a broken flower to a torn leaf. Many times while playing or due to carelessness me or my brother would break a leaf or two or may be a flower. By evening both of us would be deep inside books before baba can arrive home from office. You can always trust him with his strong sight and observation. Before he can even park his bike he would have already noticed the loss. And inside we already know what's coming... :). Both my brother and I could never guess on how baba noticed such minute details from his set of 150 pots and plants.

God has gifted me with many of my dad's traits and characteristics. One such trait is love for plants. It is impossible to have an expansive garden in a flat terrace. But that never stopped me from having one. And today I know exactly what he felt after seeing those fallen leaf or flowers. It may sound absolutely crazy to people who are not into gardening or nature but the fact is that every plant is as good your own child. The way you nurture your child, the way you feed him with nutritious food so that he can grow up well, the same way you care for your plants. Each and every one of it.

You can actually draw parallels in life. The excitement of reaching the terrace to look how much has your plant grown in the day is so similar to the joy of seeing your child's face, after you go back home from a long day's work.

My husband and I have started enjoying counting the buds the night before that will bloom into flowers the next day. The first thing we want to do the next morning is check out those flowers. And trust me, in this stress full life, it can be a great stress buster. Every morning you are greeted with colors and a blessing for the new day. You thank god for being alive and happy today!
